Hays Logistics is currently partnering with a reputable supplier within the building materials industry to recruit an experienced Counterbalance Forklift Operator for their busy Western Sydney operation.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a stable and growing business that specialises in the distribution of plasterboard products. You'll enjoy full-time hours from day one, with the opportunity to secure a permanent position following a successful probation period.

The Role
Working in a warehouse and yard environment, your primary responsibility will be the safe movement, storage, and loading of plasterboard products. As plasterboard sheets are large and can be easily damaged, attention to detail and careful forklift operation are essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operating a counterbalance forklift to load, unload and relocate stock
  • Handling large plasterboard sheets and building materials with care
  • Picking and preparing orders for dispatch
  • Loading and unloading delivery vehicles
  • Assisting with general warehouse duties
  • Following safety procedures and conducting forklift pre-start checks
  • Manual handling duties, including lifting to 25kg

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • A current LF Forklift Licence
  • Proven experience operating a counterbalance forklift
  • Previous warehouse, transport or building materials experience
  • Strong awareness of safe loading practices and product care
  • Ability to perform manual handling tasks and lift to 25kg
  • Reliable attendance and a positive work ethic
  • Availability for early morning starts and early finishes
  • A strong commitment to workplace health and safety
