About the Role
Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, this broad Financial Accountant position will suit an individual who enjoys a mix of financial reporting, taxation, inventory accounting and business partnering. You will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy of financial results, maintaining strong controls and supporting operational stakeholders across the wider business.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances
Process journals, accruals and prepayments
Manage GST, BAS and indirect tax compliance requirements
Assist with monthly financial reporting and management reporting packs
Support month end and year end close activities
Provide financial analysis and reporting to support business decisions
Oversee accounts payable processes and related reconciliations
Process and reconcile inventory transactions, including goods received
Assist with stocktakes, inventory reporting and stock analysis
Support external audit requirements and compliance activities
Identify and implement process improvement opportunities across finance
Partner with operational teams to ensure accurate financial and inventory data
Produce daily sales reporting and weekly sales and backorder reports
Skills & Experience
CA or CPA qualified, or working towards qualification
Previous experience within a Financial Accountant position
Strong knowledge of financial reporting, reconciliations and month end processes
Experience managing GST, BAS and taxation requirements
Exposure to inventory accounting within a product based environment
SAP Business One experience will be highly regarded
Advanced Excel skills
Strong analytical and problem solving capability
Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with multiple stakeholders
