Whether you're providing one-on-one counselling, facilitating community education, or linking clients with support services, you'll be helping rural communities stay strong and connected.

As the Farm Community Counsellor, you will:

Provide counselling and wellbeing support to individuals, families and communities experiencing significant stress and hardship. Build trusted relationships within farming and agricultural communities to identify and engage those who may not otherwise seek support. Deliver strengths-based, resilience-focused and solution-oriented interventions that create positive outcomes. Work collaboratively with local services, community organisations and health professionals to ensure people receive the right care at the right time.
Promote mental health awareness and wellbeing through community engagement, education and outreach activities.

Our Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling (PACFA membership required) or Occupational Therapy, with relevant registration or peak body membership Excellent mental health literacy and an understanding of the impact rural adversity can have on individuals, families and communities. Strong counselling skills and experience using strengths-based, trauma-informed and resilience-building approaches. Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to engage diverse communities and stakeholders. A passion for supporting rural and regional communities and improving mental health outcomes A current Class C Driver's Licence and willingness to travel throughout the district. Current Australian working rights.
