Experienced Chef Required (Thai Cuisine)

Location: Dickson, Canberra ACT Position: Full-time Chef Salary: $80,000 per annum plus superannuation.

Two Sisters Lao Thai Cuisine is seeking experienced Chefs specialising in Thai cuisine to join our busy team in Dickson, Canberra. You will play a key role in preparing and presenting our signature dishes, using authentic Thai ingredients and cooking methods. This is an excellent opportunity for chefs who are passionate about Thai flavours and want to contribute to a dynamic, high-energy kitchen environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:
• Plan menus, estimate food and labour costs, and order food supplies to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
• Monitor the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation to maintain high standards.
• Discuss food preparation issues with managers and kitchen staff to resolve challenges.
• Demonstrate techniques and advise on cooking procedures to improve staff skills and efficiency.
• Prepare and cook food according to established recipes to ensure consistency and quality.
• Enforce hygiene, health, and safety standards to maintain a safe working environment.
• Select, train, and supervise kitchen staff to build a skilled and effective team.
• Plan and organise the preparation and cooking of food in a busy restaurant setting.

Requirements:
• Proven experience as a Chef in a Thai restaurant or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of traditional Thai cooking techniques, spices, and flavour profiles.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Formal cookery qualifications are desirable but not mandatory.

Schedule:
• Full-time, rostered across Monday to Sunday.
• Weekend availability (Friday to Sunday) strongly encouraged.
