Ultra tech plumbing pty Ltd About the Role We are seeking a driven and experienced Equipment Hire Manager to oversee and control equipment hire operations, fleet logistics and equipment management at Ultra Tech Plumbing Pty Ltd. This is an excellent opportunity to take on a key operational role within a growing plumbing and civil services business. You will be responsible for purchasing and managing equipment availability, coordinating machinery and vehicle movements, credit control, overseeing maintenance and servicing, and ensuring efficient use of plant and equipment across the company's operations. The successful applicant will play an important role in revenue generation, supporting daily operations, maintaining equipment availability and helping the business meet the demands of its current and future projects. Task & responsibilities What You'll Do Oversee and control daily equipment operations, including equipment dispatch, returns and maintenance. Coordinate the allocation and movement of machinery, vehicles and equipment between projects and work sites. Manage equipment bookings, hire arrangements, supplier quotations and hire contracts where required. Determine credit terms and facilities to be offered to customers Analyse market supply and demand to inform purchasing decisions Make recommendations regarding equipment procurement and planning to support the company's operational requirements. Monitor inventory, fleet availability and servicing schedules. Liaise with equipment hire suppliers, mechanics, contractors and project personnel. Ensure equipment is maintained in a safe, serviceable and operational condition. Maintain accurate equipment records, service histories and utilisation reports. Monitor equipment costs and identify opportunities to improve utilisation and reduce unnecessary hire expenditure. Ensure compliance with relevant work health and safety requirements and equipment safety standards. Qualification & experience What We're Looking For: Minimum three years’ experience in equipment hire, plant management, logistics or construction operations. Familiarity with construction plant, machinery and equipment. Strong organisational, team leadership and coordination skills. A valid Australian Class C driver’s licence. White Card (Construction Induction Training). A sound understanding of workplace health and safety procedures and equipment safety. Basic computer and administrative skills, including email, Excel and equipment management systems. Nice to Have (but not essential): Excavator or other relevant plant operating experience. Heavy vehicle or haulage truck licence. Certificate III or IV in Business, Logistics or a relevant mechanical trade. The company undertakes plumbing, drainage and associated civil works, supported by a range of plant, machinery, vehicles and specialist equipment. As the business develops its operations and expands its equipment resources, effective coordination of plant, servicing, equipment allocation and hire arrangements is increasingly important to generating additional revenue, maintaining productivity and controlling operating costs. The Equipment Hire Manager position is required to control and oversee these activities, coordinate equipment requirements across projects, maintain equipment availability and support management in planning for future operational growth. The role will help ensure the company's machinery and equipment are utilised efficiently, maintained appropriately and available to meet project requirements.
