Your new role
As the Communication Manager, you'll act as the trusted communications adviser for a portfolio of business areas, partnering directly with senior executives to plan and deliver high-impact communication strategies and products. Working across both internal and external communications, you'll take ownership of communication planning, executive messaging, issues management and digital content delivery. You'll be responsible for translating complex operational information into clear, engaging content and ensuring messaging is consistent across multiple channels and audiences. Key responsibilities include:

Leading end-to-end communication strategies for major business initiatives and organisational priorities. Providing high-level advice to senior executives on communication risks, opportunities and stakeholder engagement approaches. Developing executive briefs, key messages, communication plans, web content, articles, speeches and organisational announcements. Managing digital publishing and content governance processes, ensuring compliance with government accessibility and digital standards. Monitoring communication performance and providing insights and recommendations to improve engagement outcomes. Managing, leading and mentoring a small team.

What you'll need to succeed

Baseline security clearance is required. Significant experience delivering strategic communications within government, corporate or highly regulated environments. Demonstrated success developing communication plans, executive messaging and stakeholder engagement strategies for complex projects or organisational change initiatives. Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to quickly distil technical or policy-heavy information into clear, audience-focused content. Strong experience managing website content, digital publishing workflows and content governance processes. The confidence to influence senior stakeholders and provide trusted communications advice in a fast-moving environment. Experience balancing multiple priorities while managing competing deadlines and responding to emerging issues. Familiarity with platforms such as GovCMS or similar enterprise content management systems will be highly regarded.
