Operator / Laborer - Full Time & Casual Location Williow bank Pay Rate This role is paid at a waste industry rate of $41.51 per hour, in line with applicable conditions and rosters. About the Role Recruitment 247 is currently seeking reliable and safety-focused Operators/Labourers to support day-to-day operations at a bioenergy landfill facility. Reporting to the Site Supervisor or nominated representative, you will be responsible for operating plant and equipment, carrying out general labouring duties, and supporting site operations to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant landfill activities. This position is ideal for hands-on individuals who enjoy outdoor work, can adapt to changing site conditions, and are committed to working as part of a team. Key Responsibilities General Duties Attend work on time as per roster and follow site leave and attendance requirements. Log on and off site using the site attendance system. Present fit for work and free from the influence of drugs or alcohol, and report any medication prior to commencing work. Comply with all site policies, procedures, and safety management systems. Follow emergency response, drug and alcohol, environmental, and operational procedures. Participate in toolbox meetings and safety briefings. Complete daily pre-start checks on equipment before use. Only operate machinery or perform tasks for which you are trained, competent, and authorised. Maintain accurate records of labour, machinery use, loads, and activities. Assist with training and mentoring of other workers when required. Maintain crib huts, toilets, and amenities in a clean and tidy condition. Ensure all personnel and contractors on site wear appropriate personal protective equipment. Landfill Operations Carry out waste disposal activities in accordance with approved plans and supervisor direction. Undertake waste placement, compaction, and daily covering of waste. Ensure the working face is manned during operating hours. Assist with capping of landfill surfaces and batters as required. Site Operations Clean, operate, and maintain plant, machinery, and light vehicles. Maintain haul roads, internal roads, and site signage. Manage litter control, dust suppression, fire breaks, and site fencing. Assist with leachate management and recirculation systems. Support gas field maintenance activities including monitoring, surveying, and dewatering. Conduct daily bird monitoring and maintain bird management equipment. Operate and support weighbridge functions when required, including manual processes if automated systems are unavailable. Undertake landscaping and general grounds maintenance. Source and excavate materials for site works as directed. Construct and maintain silt fencing and erosion controls. Support site operations during weekends and public holidays as rostered. Skills and Experience Previous experience in landfill, civil, earthworks, or similar operational environments is desirable. Experience operating plant and machinery is highly regarded. A strong commitment to workplace health and safety is essential. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and site conditions. Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Willingness to undertake training and ongoing skill development.
