Task: Delivery driver small truck Position: Fruit and Vegetable Delivery Driver Key Responsibilities Delivery & Transport
• Safely deliver fresh fruit and vegetables to customers, retailers, restaurants, or markets according to scheduled routes.
• Load and unload produce carefully to prevent damage or spoilage.
• Ensure correct quantities and items are delivered, matching invoices or delivery dockets.
• Collect signatures, payments, or delivery confirmations where required.
• Follow delivery schedules and meet time-sensitive drop-offs. Product Handling & Quality Control
• Handle fresh produce in accordance with food safety and hygiene standards.
• Check quality of fruit and vegetables before loading and upon delivery.
• Maintain appropriate temperature and storage conditions during transport.
• Report damaged, missing, or spoiled produce to supervisors promptly. Vehicle & Equipment Care
• Conduct daily vehicle safety checks (tyres, fuel, lights, refrigeration units if applicable).
• Keep delivery vehicle clean, tidy, and suitable for food transport.
• Report mechanical issues, accidents, or maintenance needs immediately.
• Operate equipment such as pallet jacks or trolleys safely. Customer Service
• Provide friendly and professional service to customers.
• Address basic customer enquiries or relay issues to the office.
• Represent the company positively at all times.
• Build good working relationships with regular customers. Documentation & Compliance
• Complete delivery records, logs, and paperwork accurately.
• Follow company procedures and road safety regulations.
• Comply with food handling, workplace health and safety, and hygiene standards.
• Adhere to Australian road rules and company driving policies. General Duties
• Assist in the warehouse with picking, packing, or sorting produce when required.
• Support stock rotation (FIFO – first in, first out) practices.
• Maintain punctuality and reliability for early starts or long shifts.
• Work independently and as part of a team. Skills & Requirements
• Valid driver’s licence
• Good knowledge of local delivery routes
• Physically fit for manual handling tasks
• Strong time management and organisational skills
• Basic numeracy and record-keeping skills
• Previous delivery or produce industry experience (desirable)
