Deckhand / Seafood Processing Worker

Job description

We have up to 20 positions available for Farm hands on Oyster, Sardine and Tuna Farm in Port Lincoln and surrounding areas.

Work is due to start Early December 2026 and is expected to go for up to 9 months, with Various intake through to November 2027.

You will be paid as a Level 1, Casual Employee under the Aqua culture Award 2020 (MA000114). Hourly or Piece Rates may apply.

There may be an opportunity to undertake training and upskilling in this role, which can allow your remuneration to increase as per the levels in the Aquaculture Award 2020 (MA000114).

The position is for a Deck Hand, with duties including supporting fishing activities, handling and processing seafood products, loading and unloading vessels and stock, maintaining equipment and work areas, and ensuring high standards of food safety and hygiene.

This position requires the availability for shift work over a 7-day roster. Minimum of 30 hours a week, 5.00am -3.30pm though at times this may change due to the seasonal needs of the business.

Selection Criteria:

Attention to detail

Good hand-eye co-ordination

Ability to follow detailed instructions

Ability to work continuously at a high level of concentration

Must be physically fit, agile & able to stand for long periods

Ability to be out on boats for long periods of time

Able to work in wet conditions

Be physically fit and strong
