Company Details: Our client, The Trustee for Fatima Group Family Trust t/a Bar B Q Lounge, a busy Pakistani Restaurant in Brunswick VIC is looking to fill full time position for enthusiastic, creative and fully qualified Cook to assist in running busy restaurant kitchen. The company takes pride in their ability to deliver quality food and a superior service every time. Client is looking for experienced Cook with the passion and this role is very much hands-on, requiring attention to detail and a positive work attitude. To be successful in this position, you will need to have relevant work experience and trade qualifications, you must have a genuine interest in the hospitality industry. The successful applicant must comply with all WHS, Food Safety and HACCP requirements. Minimum Requirements: Certificate II or III in commercial Cookery with at least 1 year experience
Key Responsibilities: Prepare and cook a range of curry dishes including Butter Chicken, Lamb Rogan Josh, Goat Curry,Dal Makhani, Chana Masala, Palak Paneer, Paneer Curries, and other restaurant specialities. Prepare ingredients including chopping vegetables, preparing spice mixes, marinating meats, and making curry bases and gravies. Follow traditional Indian and Pakistani cooking methods to ensure consistency in taste, quality, and presentation. Monitor cooking processes, temperatures, and portion sizes to maintain food quality standards. Prepare food according to customer orders and restaurant recipes while maintaining timely service. Ensure all food preparation and cooking activities comply with food safety and hygiene regulations. Check quality and freshness of ingredients before use and report any issues with stock quality. Assist with preparation of biryani, tandoori items, naan accompaniments, and other menu items when required. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen areas, cooking equipment, and food preparation stations. Ensure wastage is kept to a minimum Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen Skills and Personal Attributes: skilled in preparing, seasoning, and cooking food according to recipes understanding of food safety and OHS requirements in depth knowledge of Indian and Pakistani Cuisine be abl e to work under pressure in a busy kitchen be a motivated individual who has a passion for cooking
