Target Business Services Location: Unit 4, 42–44 Essington Street, Mitchell ACT 2911 Salary: $85,000 plus 12% superannuation Position: Permanent, Full-time

Our client, ZICOM Pty Ltd, is a specialist renewable energy installer operating across Canberra and surrounding regions. With a strong focus on sustainability and energy independence, the business has successfully completed over 500 solar photovoltaic (PV), battery storage and solar hot water installations for both residential and commercial customers.

As the business continues to expand its operations and undertake increasingly complex installation projects, it is seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Contract Administrator to support the administration of commercial contracts, supplier agreements and project documentation. This position plays an important role in ensuring contractual compliance, managing contract documentation and supporting the efficient delivery of renewable energy projects.

The successful candidate will work closely with management, project managers, suppliers, subcontractors and customers to administer contracts, coordinate contract variations, monitor compliance requirements and minimise contractual risks throughout project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review and administer customer contracts, subcontractor agreements and supplier contracts.
  • Coordinate the preparation, execution and maintenance of contract documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Review contract terms and conditions to ensure compliance with company policies and applicable legislation.
  • Liaise with project managers, clients, suppliers and subcontractors regarding contractual obligations and documentation requirements.
  • Prepare and process contract variations, extensions of time and other contractual amendments.
  • Monitor project milestones and contractual deliverables to ensure compliance with agreed timeframes.
  • Maintain accurate records of contracts, correspondence, variations and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with the preparation and assessment of payment claims, progress claims and contract-related invoices.
  • Identify contractual risks and provide recommendations to management to minimise commercial exposure.
  • Support procurement activities by coordinating quotations, supplier documentation and purchase agreements.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant workplace health and safety, building industry and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare reports and provide administrative support relating to project and contract performance.

Qualifications and Experience

  • AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma in Business, Contract Management, Construction Management or a related discipline.
  • At least one year of relevant post-qualification experience as a Contract Administrator or in a similar commercial administration role.
  • Experience administering construction, infrastructure or renewable energy contracts will be highly regarded.

  • Strong understanding of contract administration principles and commercial documentation.
  • Excellent written communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret contractual terms and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to build productive relationships with clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a project team.
