An exciting opportunity exists for a dedicated and experienced McGrath Cancer Care Nurse (MCCN) to join the team at Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District as a Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 2 - Breast Cancer Care.
In this specialist role, you will provide expert, compassionate, and patient-centered care to individuals diagnosed with Breast Cancer, supporting them and their families from diagnosis through treatment and into survivorship. As part of the McGrath Model of Care, you will play a critical role in improving outcomes and experiences for patients across the care continuum across various sites within the district including Lithgow, Katoomba and Nepean.
This is a role where you will deliver advanced Clinical Nursing care to patients with Breast Cancer, provide comprehensive assessment, care planning, and symptom management, act as a consistent and trusted point of contact for patients and their families, coordinate care across inpatient, outpatient, and community services, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless, high-quality care and provide education, information, and emotional support to patients and carers.

What you will bring to the role
Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency and current NSW Driver's License and willingness to use same as required for the position.
Minimum of five years' post-registration experience in Surgical or Medical Oncology, including at least three years' experience as a Breast Care Nurse or in a related discipline. Relevant postgraduate qualifications or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate. Where an applicant does not yet hold postgraduate qualifications, or requires further supported development in the specialty area of Cancer Care Nursing, an informed decision and expectation may be made to appoint the applicant through the McGrath Foundation Associate Pathway, with support provided by the McGrath Foundation and the LHD to undertake postgraduate Oncology Nursing studies. This will require the successful applicant to commence in the role within the McGrath Foundation Associate Pathway.

Ability to apply clinical expertise in patient-centred consultancy with the ability to work effectively both as a member of a multidisciplinary team and independently.
