Your new company

Our Client is currently seeking an experienced Charge Up Operator to join its underground hard‑rock mining team in Western Australia. This position is available on either a 2/2 or 7/7 FIFO roster, providing flexibility to suit individual preferences. A valid WA Shortfirer’s Licence is essential for any applicant.

Your new role

  • Safe and compliant execution of all charging and blasting activities in accordance with site procedures and legislative requirements
  • Preparation, handling, and application of explosives and accessories
  • Inspection of blast sites, assessment of ground conditions, and verification of firing readiness
  • Coordination with supervisors, jumbo operators, and engineers to maintain development and production schedules
  • Accurate record‑keeping, reporting, and statutory documentation
  • Upholding strict safety standards and contributing to a disciplined operational environment

What you'll need to succeed

  • Current WA Shortfirer’s Licence (mandatory)
  • Demonstrated experience in underground hard‑rock mining in a charge‑up capacity
  • Strong understanding of explosives management, safety legislation, and statutory compliance
  • Ability to work autonomously while maintaining effective communication with operational teams
  • High attention to detail, situational awareness, and commitment to safe work practices
  • Current WA C‑Class driving licence and relevant underground competencies
