An exciting opportunity to join a Government Department who deliver quality services by providing responsive and integrated housing services to Queenslanders.
They are currently seeking an AO3 Housing Officer to engage in a full-time temporary contract. The experienced candidate will form part of a dedicated team for 6 months with possibility of extending, based in Cairns, QLD.
Your new role
As the AO3 Housing Officer your role will encompass basic office administration as well as supporting the team.
- Work collaboratively to respond to customers, undertake customer interviews, make referrals to support service agencies, assess new housing and bond loan applications and rental grants.
- Manage tenancy arrangements, allocations and vacancies, liaising with the community and other housing providers and ensure departmental compliance.
- Conduct home visits to properties and investigate and facilitate the resolution of any tenancy disputes and complaints as well as manage the maintenance of properties and conduction property inspections.
- Monitor and manage outstanding arrears, rent assessments, pay deductions and refunds and actioning sundry debts and collections as required.
- Use Microsoft products and other IT systems to maintain accurate customer and property records and file notes with a high level of accuracy and work output.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role you will have the below skill set –
- Excellent keyboard skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office suite are a must.
- Demonstrated General administration skills
- Experienced in data entry into spreadsheet, worked with basic Excel formulars, Content Manager or other Records Management System
- Microsoft - Share Point Sites, MS Teams sites, MS Mailboxes
- Must have an eye for detail and accuracy in data entry
