About the opportunity

A part-time, permanent Allied Health Assistant (AHA) Grade 2 position is available within the Subacute Multidisciplinary Team at Werribee Mercy Hospital. Working 4 days per fortnight, this role plays an important part in supporting high-quality, person-centred care across our rehabilitation and GEM programs.

As an AHA, you will provide safe, evidence-based clinical support under the delegation and supervision of Allied Health Professionals (AHPs). You will assist with the delivery of delegated therapy programs, functional activities, and patient-centred interventions that promote independence, safety, and wellbeing.

In addition to clinical tasks, you will contribute essential non-clinical support to the Allied Health team and department, including equipment management, resource preparation, and maintaining organised and safe therapy spaces. Your work will help ensure smooth daily operations and timely access to services for patients across the subacute setting.

To thrive in this role, you will have:

Previous AHA experience supporting an inpatient MDT caseload

Cert IV Allied Health Assistant or equivalent

Excellent clinical, time management, organisational and communication skills, with the ability to adapt and problem solve.

A compassionate, flexible and positive approach to effective patient care and management.

The ability to nurture friendly, respectful relationships and contribute to a collaborative team environment.

You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:

A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check.

Proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
